The Arrowvale Sleeper
Welsh Marches hospitality awaits you in the
glorious setting of Titley Junction Station. Located in the most
rural of England's counties, Herefordshire.
In
2010 we introduced the “Arrowvale Sleeper” a BR Mk 1 1963 Corridor
Coach first numbered BR26169, which underwent conversion in the
late 1980’s and formed part of the “Queen Of Scots” charter
train. Now recently restored and transformed to a luxurious and
beautifully appointed self catering camping coach. The carriage is filled with character and comfortably sleeps up to six in two luxury en-suit bedrooms and children's bunk bedroom.
The open plan lounge area is beautifully appointed with wonderful panoramic views of the Arrow Valley and beyond to the nearby Welsh Border.
A
large comfortable sofa, occasional tables and ambient
lighting ensure a pleasant and relaxing holiday. For your enjoyment: Flat screen TV with free view satellite; DVD player and a selection of movies and railway films; Local history and railway books; Board Games and Jigsaw Puzzles.
The kitchen/dinning room is fully fitted with quality appliances and fixtures. LPG cooker with oven, grill, 4 burners and an extractor hood. Fridge with small freezer compartment. Microwave and all new small appliances. All kitchen utensils, cutlery and place settings are of the highest quality. Mixer tap with water filter.
The
beautiful solid oak extending dinning table and chairs
comfortably seats six or more. A welcome basket of local produce awaits your arrival.
Full Central Heating throughout the carriage and on demand hot water ensures comfort throughout the seasons. Portable tower fans and air conditioning unit are available during the hot summer months.
The bedrooms are accessed through the original coach corridor:
The
two en-suit double bedrooms retain many of the original
luxury features from earlier conversions. First, completed in 1989
for the “Queen of Scots” charter train which ran mainly in
Scotland, the carriage was named the “Imperial State Car”. Second,
in 1993 when the carriage was refurbished at Llangollen and
renamed “Sleeping Beauty”.The mahogany panelling with checkerboard parquetry displays the attention to detail given when the carriage was transformed into a luxury sleeping car. Each bedroom is fitted with a built-in double bed, wardrobe with internal drawers and a small dressing table with mirror. Luxury bed linen and window dressing adorn the room and add to the richness of the decoration.
A
hairdryer & DAB Radio are provided in each double
bedroom. The en-suit bathrooms are fitted with a generous walk-in
shower, WC and wash basin. A corner wall cupboard provides ample
storage for toiletries. Bathroom mirror with light & electric
shaver point are fitted in each bathroom. The children's bunk bedroom is located at the end of the corridor and has two very comfortable bunk beds fitted with memory foam mattresses, with inbuilt ladder to access top bunk. Individual reading lamps are provided. Cupboard with shelf is provided for storage.
